After graduating with a BA in Music with a minor in Business from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, I found myself working at an institutional investment bank as a mutual fund accountant. With my creative fires doused, I woke up one day and realized that I couldn't work as an automaton any longer and after two years of clinging to the bureaucratic ladder; I decided to take a leap and go back to school. Currently I am working on my master’s degree in elementary education in curriculum and instruction.

I found, however, that writing keeps me sane. I found out a long time ago that to get thoughts and feelings on paper can be cathartic as well as a great self-help tool. Throughout my time in school I have written everything from extensive research papers to comedic self -help essays. I enjoy taking topics and evaluating them in a different and fresh manner. To get paid for writing is only an added bonus.
